Who is Dr. Gray?
James Gray, MD, is a cardiologist with fellowship training in integrative holistic medicine. His specialties include integrative cardiology, wearable technologies, preventive medicine, general cardiology, lipid management, and cardiac rehabilitation. Dr. Gray believes in a holistic approach to health and healing and the importance of preventing disease and illness.
Dr. Gray is also an FAA-designated Aviation Medical Examiner (junior), and can perform 2nd and 3rd class FAA medical exams.
Dr. Gray joined Scripps Clinic in 2014 and performs various cardiac procedures and services, including permanent pacemaker implantation, diagnostic coronary angiography, right heart catheterization, transesophageal echocardiography, adult echocardiography, and stress testing. He aims to educate his patients about their health and the best treatment options for their condition.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gray has a special interest in studying digital technologies such as photoplethysmography and heart rate variability through specialized devices and wearable technologies for the early detection of cardiovascular disease. He is currently the principal investigator in a clinical trial designed to use this technology in patients with COVID-19 as a potential biomarker for clinical outcomes and prognosis.
